Patricia Bockhorst, 89, of Milan
passed away at 3:18am, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at IU Health West in
Avon. She was born near Moores Hill on July 7, 1931 the daughter
of Otho and Maude Manlief Ashcraft. She was married to Henry Bockhorst
on September 2, 1950 and her husband of 70 years survives. Other survivors
include two daughters Pam (Gary) Comer of Osgood and Sandy (Steve)
Foley of Avon; 7 grandchildren Jesse (Amy), Matt (Alisha), Rachel Richey
(Ryan), Renee Borgman (Josh), Ashley Damron (Neil), Courtney Livingston
(Andy), and Mackenzie Foley (Stephanie); great-grandchildren Colton
Comer, Ava Richey, Graham Richey, Case Comer, Hayden Comer, Harrison
Comer, Derek Borgman, Kelsey Borgman, Tori Borgman, Abby Morehead, and
Allie (Becca) Meister, Bradyn Livingston, Cale Livingston, Aven Damron ,
Jonothan Fults, Emily Fults; great-great-grandchildren Kynlee and Ella;
one brother Delton (Beverly) Ashcraft of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister
Carolyn (Doug) Manford of Aurora, and many nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Kenneth, Elmer, Paul, and
Leslie Ashcraft, and her sisters Inez Hoffmeyer, Lois Cottingham,
Katherine Hollin and Janet Hedrick. Mrs. Bockhorst was a 1949 graduate
of Moores Hill High School. Her working career spanned many years with
employment at the former Whitlatch Clinic in Milan as well as Krick
Electric. She was also co-owner of B & P Distributors in Milan. Pat
was a former member of the South Sparta Baptist Church and was a 66 year
member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Stumpke’s Corner where she
had served on the church council, as church treasurer, and in many other
capacities. Pat loved people and made many friends everywhere she went.
She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who treasured her family and
embraced every moment with them. All who loved her dearly will never
forget her kindness, charm, grace, and undying love. Funeral services
will be held at 3pm, Thursday, April 8 th at the St. Paul Lutheran
Church at Stumpke’s Corner with Pastor Sue Socha officiating. Visitation
will also be on Thursday at the church beginning at 1pm. Pat’s wishes
were to be cremated and burial will follow at a later date at the South
Sparta Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Lutheran Church
or the South Sparta Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral
Home in Versailles. |
