Agatha Carroll

Agatha Carroll, 93, of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in the Hopewell community near Holton on January 3, 1914 the daughter of Clarison and Mabel Bowers Carroll. Survivors include one sister Mary Elizabeth Self of Indianapolis; one brother Robert Burtch of Indianapolis; niece Linda Williams of Springfield, Ohio; nephews Allen Smith of Farmington, Michigan, and Noel Burtch of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Lula Burtch Carroll, her brother Virgil Carroll, and her sister Lois Smith. Ms. Carroll worked as a private housekeeper in Cincinnati for 51 years. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 26 at 1pm at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Shivers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12pm until time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to the Hopewell Baptist Church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home at Versailles.
