Agnes Huntington

Agnes Huntington, 77, of the Hopewell community near Holton passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born at Floyd County, Kentucky on January 26, 1929 the daughter of H.B. and Mary E. Hall. She was married to Robert Huntington on September 21, 1947 and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2006. Survivors include three sons, Danny Huntington and his wife Sharon Crane of Potomac, Maryland, Bruce Huntington and Nancy of Butlerville, and Greg Huntington and Paula of Cedar Hill, Texas; four daughters, Kathi Smith and her husband Ernest of Thomaston, Georgia, Vickie Schneider and Richard of Sunman, Elaine Hammel of Holton, and Rebecca Filiatreau and Danny of Bardstown, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. Mrs. Huntington was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church where she was instrumental in starting the Christmas gifts for Appalachian Children program. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11 at 11am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Shivers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services at the church Thursday. Memorials may be given to the Hopewell Baptist Church building fund in care of the funeral home.
