Alan L. Dunaway, 61, of Greensburg
passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at his home. He was born at Biloxi, Mississippi on October 21, 1952 and was raised in Ripley County the son of Robert and Donna Feltenberger Dunaway. He was married to Myrna McKittrick on December 28, 1970 and she survives. Other survivors include one son Curtis (Trista) Dunaway of Columbus; one daughter Brandi (Josh) Spellman of Indianapolis; grandchildren Gabriella Garcia and Alan Dunaway; his mother-in-law Virginia McDonald of Fancy Gap, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Calvin. Mr. Dunaway was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he served with the Fourth Infantry Division of the Sixth Army. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Sharpshooter Badge. In civilian life Alan worked for 25 years for Delta Faucet in Greensburg and also worked for Navistar in Indianapolis for 11 years. Alan was a member of the Church of Christ at Greensburg. A celebration of Alan's life will be held on Monday, August 4 from 4pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
