Alberta Miller

Alberta Miller, 82, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born at Dayton, Ohio on November 10, 1932 the daughter of George and Virgie Schock Seals. She was married to Elmer Miller on February 16, 1952 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1997. Survivors include one son Donald G. (Deborah) Miller of Knoxville, Tennessee; one daughter Brenda (John) Busek of Dillsboro; two grandchildren Tami Gordon of Osgood, and Elizabeth (Darren) Heppner of Sunman; three brothers Rev. Robert (Shirley) Seals of Portland, Oregon, Jerry (Dottie) Seals of Greensburg, and Bill (Carol) Seals of Versailles; two sisters Bernice Fisk of Benson, Arizona, and Janet (Fred) Peters of Batesville. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Buck Seals. Mrs. Miller was a 1950 graduate of Versailles High School. She was employed with US Shoe in Osgood for several years and taught cake decorating at the Southeastern Career Center. She enjoyed the fellowship of her family and friends and volunteering at local nursing homes. She had baked professionally, making several wedding and special occasion cakes. Alberta was known as a prayer warrior, and was a long time member of the Cedar Creek Community Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 11am at the Cedar Creek Community Church with Alberta's brother Rev. Robert Seals officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery at Elrod. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Cave Hill Christian Academy or the Bridge of Hope Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
