Alfred F. Young, 89, of Napoleon
passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born near Napoleon on February 3, 1925 the son of Clem and Clara Kohrman Young. He was married to Rita Duerstock on June 15, 1949 and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2008. Survivors include two sons Dale (Becky) Young and Larry (Pam) Young both of Napoleon; two daughters Janice (Kenny) Fry and Nancy (Bob) Obermeyer also of Napoleon; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one brother Arthur (Carol) Young of Greensburg. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his daughter-in-law Deborah Young, his grandson Brian Obermeyer, and his brother Raymond Young. Mr. Young farmed his entire life and was also a former employee of Williamson Heating and Cooling and also Bohn Aluminum, both in Greensburg. He was a 54 year member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 11
at 10am at St. Maurice Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Napoleon Fire Department or the St. Maurice building fund in care of the funeral home.
