Alice L. McCoy, 79, of Olean
passed away Thursday, September 30, 2004 at the Waters of Ross Manor in
Dillsboro. She was born near Olean on November 7, 1924 the daughter of Herman
and Hattie Pegee. She was married to R. C. McCoy on May 5, 1946 and he preceded
her in death on December 3, 1973. Mrs. McCoy was a 1942 graduate of Cross Plains
High School and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean. She,
along with her husband owned and operated the Versailles Implement Company in
Olean for several years. She also had been employed with the US Shoe factory in
Osgood and Wood Farm Supply in Versailles. Mrs. McCoy was currently serving as
President of the Ripley County Historical Society and was a member of the Ripley
County Extension Homemakers. She had also served as a food judge for several
county fairs throughout southern Indiana for nearly 50 years. Survivors include
two daughters, Pam Wygant and her husband Dean and Peggy Ehlers and her husband
Robert all of Versailles; two grandchildren, Shawn Ehlers and Allison Wygant.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2
at 10am at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with visitation being Friday,
October 1
from 4pm to 7pm. Burial will be in St.Peter's Cemetery in
Olean. Memorials may be given to the cemetery in care of the funeral home.
