Alice Marie Mcevoy

Alice Marie McEvoy, 74, of Holton passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at her home. She was born in Shelby Township near New Marion on August 15, 1934 the daughter of Ed and Hattie Robertson Kennens. Survivors include one daughter Sandy (Jim) Castner of Holton; three sons, Donald (Marilee) McEvoy, Stephen McEvoy, and David (Phyllis) McEvoy all of Holton; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Bobby and her daughter Cindy, her parents, her brothers Ray Kennens and Lester (Tiny) Kennens, and her sisters Betty Morgan and Mary Estell. Mrs. McEvoy was a member of the Holton Christian Church and the Holton Hometowners. She had served as a Republican Precinct Committeeman in Otter Creek Township and had worked for several years on the election board. She was a 35-year employee of US Shoe in Osgood and had been employed with the Holton Food Mart. She had also served on the board for the Holton Jamboree. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 6 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Karen Reynolds of the New Marion Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Greendale Cemetery at Osgood. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
