Alta Asche

**Alta Asche**, 95, of North Vernon, formerly of Holton, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born at Haney's Corner near Rexville on December 18, 1914 the daughter of Harry and Myrtie Shepherd Geisler. She was married to Fred Asche on February 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1990. Survivors include two sons Jerry (Dosha) Asche of Holton and Alois (Tina) Asche of Osgood; one daughter Patsy Sue (Omar) Bradley of Versailles; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters Freda Ellis and Delta Little both of Madison. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Amelia Holman, and her brothers Leslie, Lester, and Alva Geisler. Mrs. Asche assisted her husband as a custodian at the Holton School. She had also cared for the elderly in the community and was a homemaker. She was a member of the West Fork Baptist Church and was a 62-year member of the Osgood-Versailles Chapter of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 6 at 11am at the West Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Bob McCreary of the Holton Christian Church and Rev. David Blazier of West Fork officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 10am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the West Fork Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
