Amy R. Thomas, 85, of Versailles, formerly of Osgood, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born at Osgood on August 23, 1924 the daughter of Omer and Mary Boutine Huntington. She was married to Price Thomas and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1990. Survivors include 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son Jerry Hendrix, her brother Clifford Huntington, and her sisters Marion Huelson, Maude Bradshaw, and Emma Smith. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Versailles Church of Christ. She had worked as a bookkeeper in Osgood for several years for Sam Row and also for McCoy Motors. She was also a former deputy for the Ripley County Auditor's office. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Dale Day officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles. Visitation will be Sunday from 4pm to 6pm. Memorials may be given to the Versailles Church of Christ, Versailles Baptist Church building fund, or the South Ripley Classroom Teachers Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
