Andrew V. Grossman

Andrew V. Grossman, 81, of the Hopewell Community passed away at 9:10pm Thursday, December 10, 2015 at his home. He was born on the farm where he passed away on October 31, 1934 the son of Leland "Pete" and Juanita Burton Grossman. He was married to Elizabeth Pratt on August 6, 1955 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons Victor (Jill) Grossman of Madison and Michael Grossman of Holton; one daughter Kathy (Steve) Franklin of Holton; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Montana Whitson, and his brothers Ray Grossman and Ernie Grossman. Mr. Grossman was a 1952 graduate of Holton High School. He was a former employee of Beatrice Foods in Osgood and retired from Hoosier Energy in 1989. Andy was also a farmer and was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 15th at 11am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Pastor Ty Choate officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and on Tuesday from 10am until time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to the Hopewell Baptist Church building fund in care of the funeral home.
