Ann M. Black, 78, of Versailles passed away at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. She was born in Shelbyville on July 8, 1947, the daughter of Oscar and Florence Ott Foreman. She was married to Wayne Black on October 21,1971, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1994. Survivors include three brothers Ronnie (Nellie) Foreman of Greenfield, Larry (Donna) Foreman of Fairland, and Frank Foreman of Bedford. She was also preceded in death by her son Kelly Black, her parents, and her brothers Warren and Richard Foreman. Mrs. Black was a 1966 graduate of Morristown High School. She and Wayne moved to Osgood in 1987 and Ann worked as a dispatcher and secretary for the Indiana State Police Post in Versailles for 15 years. After retiring she worked at the Damm Theatre in Osgood and always enjoyed seeing neighbors and friends. She loved to travel with her brothers and different family members, especially bus trips, crocheting, and being outside working in her yard. Ann was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Osgood. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 9 at 12 p.m. at the St. John Catholic Church with Father Bill Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the church or cemetery in care of the funeral home.
