Anna Margaret Orr, 80, of Milan
passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Dearborn County Hospital. She was born near Sunman on March 15, 1931 the daughter of Fritz and Anna Schmidt Knopf. Survivors include one son Mark (Wanda) Orr of Letts; two daughters Carol (Jim) Hull of Waycross, Georgia and Diane Orr of Westchester, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; three brothers Fred (Melvie) Knopf of Milford, Ohio, Henry Knopf of Cincinnati, and Robert (Gisele) Knopf of Holden, Maine; six sisters Liane (Andy) Beard and Elfriede Manning both of Cincinnati, Johanna (Wallace) Witte of Lawrenceburg, Nina (Joseph) Allen and Linda (Ed) Schwartz both of Moores Hill, and Emily (Mike) Kelly of Gaston; sisters-in-law Nancy Knopf of Milan, Shirley Knopf of Cleves, Ohio, and Sue Knopf of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Stephen and Daniel, and her brothers Ernest, Walter, and Carl Knopf. Mrs. Orr was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Stumpke's Corner and was a former volunteer for the Dearborn County Hospital. Anna was an accomplished artist and her great joy in life was nurturing children, especially her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3rd at 11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Stumpke's Corner with Pastors Susan Socha and Will Sipe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to the donors choice.
