Anna Mae Waldo, 91, of Versailles passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her home. She was born at Spring Lake in Kenton County, Kentucky on March 16, 1917 the daughter of James and Martha Huffman Culbertson. She was married to James A. Waldo in 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1964. Survivors include one son James (Jim) Waldo of Versailles; one daughter Jean Thompson of Indianapolis; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister Margaret Maxwell of Greensburg. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son William Waldo, and her brothers James and Robert Culbertson. Mrs. Waldo was a former employee of the Spencer-Tyson Pharmacy, Hunter's Hardware in Versailles, and also Seagram's. She also had operated an upholstery shop in her home. She had enjoyed quilting and through the years had made many cheerleading and majorette outfits for local children as well as prom dresses. Funeral services will be held Monday, August at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Randy Thieman of the Shelby Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. Visitation will be Monday from 10am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Foundation or Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
