Audrey M. Stenger

Audrey M. Stenger, 79, of Versailles passed away Friday, July 7, 2006 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born at Franklin Township, Indiana on August 25, 1926 the daughter of Ova and Flora Sebastian Turner. She was married to Ralph A. Stenger Sr. on June 24, 1949 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1993. Survivors include one daughter Mary Fuehrer of Detroit, Michigan, four sons: Ralph Jr of Versailles, Peter of Versailles, Richard of Madison, Howard of Pekasie, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Freda Adkins of Versailles, Joyce Jones of Burlington, Kentucky, Janet Meirele of Versailles, two brothers, Donald and Jim Edwards both of Versailles. Her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Stenger, along with her husband, owned and operated the Stenger Package Store in Versailles. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood and the Ripley County Historical Society. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 11 at 12pm at the St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10am until time of services. Burial will be in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Osgood. Memorials may be given to the Donor's Choice in care of the funeral home. Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles is handling the arrangements.
