Barbara Groppenbecker

Barbara Groppenbecker, 55, of Batesville passed away Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born at Hazard, Kentucky on October 9, 1950 the daughter of Samuel and Ruby Sturgill Lewis. She was married to Terry Groppenbecker in February of 1984 and he survives. Other survivors include three sons, Jerry Shelton of Batesville, Danny Smallwood of Vevay, and Randy Smallwood of Batesville; three daughters, Priscilla Duffy of Cincinnati, Natasha Smallwood of Madison, and Lisa Smallwood of Batesville; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Chuck Sturgill and Wade "Bimbo" Lewis both of Cincinnati; two sisters, Nugget Sturgill of Cincinnati and Regina Sturgill of Florida. Mrs. Groppenbecker was a former employee of New Horizons in Batesville. Funeral services will be held Friday, March at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Visitation will be Friday from 10am until time of services. Burial will be in the Akers Cemetery at Friendship. Memorials may be given to the cemetery in care of the funeral home.
