Benjamin S. Stephenson

**Benjamin S. Stephenson**, 92, of Elrod passed away Thursday May 13, 2004 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born on July 1, 1911 near Chatham in Washington County, Alabama the son of Peter and Eva Mellon Stephenson. He was married to Elaine Kindle on January 1, 1940 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Larry Stephenson of Elrod and Ronald Stephenson and his wife Pam of Kent; one daughter, Glenda Kelly and her husband Robert of Scipio; two grandchildren, Brian Kelly and Brianna Stephenson. Mr. Stephenson was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and four brothers. He was a 33 year employee of Schenleys in Lawrenceburg retiring in 1974. He had also worked on a government light tender boat on the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15 at 2pm at the Strattton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Bruce Fitzsimmons of the Washington Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Eastview Cemetery at Patriot. Visitation will be held from 12pm until time of the services on Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Washington Baptist Church building fund.
