Bernice C. Tingle, 84, of Benham passed away Saturday August 28, 2004 at her residence. She was born near Moorefield in Switzerland County on January 13, 1920 the daughter of Charles and Lena Tingle Monroe. She was married to Alton Tingle on November 15, 1960 and he survives. Other survivors include three sons, William Herman, Jr. and his wife Loan of Dallas, Bob Herman and his wife Joanne of Trafalgar, and Don Herman and his wife Sue of Phoenix; one brother Charles Monroe of Rexville; two sisters Lottie Butler and Juanita Wilson both of Phoenix; her mother-in-law Mrs. Elsie Tingle of Osgood; seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Evelyn Marie Ross, brothers William, Adolphus, and Kenneth Monroe and her sisters Margaret Washburn and Geneva Monroe. Mrs. Tingle was a 1938 graduate of Manual High School in Indianapolis and retired from Indiana Bell in 1961. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 30 at 3pm at the Benham Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army or the Benham Cemetery.
