Bertie Sauer

**Bertie Sauer**, 69, of Seymour, formerly of Versailles, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born at Keavy, in Laurel County, Kentucky on November 16, 1935 the daughter of Dillard and Mollie Lawson Witt. She was married to George Sauer on June 30, 1977 and he survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Susan Smith and her husband Joe of Versailles, Patti Saunders of Seymour, Donna Walls of Versailles, and Sherri Stolze and her husband Craig of North Vernon; one son Charles "Chuck" Bunch and his wife Janna of Hamilton, Ohio; one step-daughter Charlene Tillis and her husband Randy of Chicago; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers Robert Witt and his wife Violet of Brookville and Jerry Witt and his wife Wren of Indianapolis; one sister Katherine Shepherd of Citra, Florida. Mrs. Sauer was preceded in death by her son Tommy Bunch and her grandsons Michael and Nicholas Huber. Mrs. Sauer was a homemaker and a member of the Versailles Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March at 2pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Dale Day officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29 from 5pm to 8pm. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Riley Hospital for Children or the Versailles Church of Christ in care of the funeral home.
