Berton A. Naylor, 77, of Holton passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born at Milan on February 21, 1933 the son of Howard and Alice Brown Naylor. He was married to Elizabeth Harshman on June 8, 1957 and she survives. Other survivors include one son David (Christy Donoghue) Naylor of Westport; one daughter Lisa Naylor of Versailles; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William. Mr. Naylor was a 1951 graduate of Versailles High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Cpl. Naylor served with the 619 Engineer Company and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a former employee of Thatcher Glass in Lawrenceburg and had been finance officer for Croxton Motors in Madison and Ande Chevrolet in Lawrenceburg. Bert was a member of the Versailles American Legion and the NRA. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Leon Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Holton Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
