Betty R. Bode

**Betty R. Bode**, 73, of Milan passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007 at her home. She was born at Friendship on April 6, 1934 the daughter of Hunter and Lois Ward Taul. Survivors include three sons, Bill Bode and his wife Lauren of Bayville, New Jersey, Jim Bode and his wife Aimee of Milan, and Bob Bode and his wife Kristina of Holton; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; one sister Mary Edith Bullock of Ocala, Florida; two brothers, Jesse Taul of Versailles, and Jim Taul and his wife Sharon of Versailles. Mrs. Bode was a 1952 graduate of Versailles High School. She was retired from Krogers where she worked as a secretary in the payroll department. She had also worked in the Hardy Insurance Agency at Versailles for the past ten years. She was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church and participated in league bowling at Pollards Bowl in Versailles for several years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 31 at 11am at the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Friendship with her nephew Pastor Dan Bullock and Rev. Sherman Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Akers Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Akers Friendship Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
