Betty Drew

Betty Drew, 81, of Greensburg, formerly of Osgood, passed away at 7:55pm Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Morning Breeze in Greensburg. She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on March 26, 1935, the daughter of Wesley and Adina Coffey Gibson. She was married to David Drew on December 27, 1955 and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2000. Survivors include two brothers Donahue (Linda) Gibson of Westport and Hobart Gibson of Versailles; two sisters Trula Thornton of Covington, Kentucky and Delia (Earl) Thomas of Greensburg, along with several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Willie Earl Gibson and James Gibson, and her sister Edna Garrett. Mrs. Drew was a former employee of Dr. Scholl's shoe factory in Cincinnati and spent much of her free time at the Jennings County Senior Center in North Vernon where she enjoyed dancing. Betty was a member of the Versailles Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26 at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Bro. Earl Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 3pm to 5pm. Memorials may be given to the Shelby Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
