Bill Gabbard

**Bill Gabbard**, 77, of Cross Plains passed away Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born at McKey in Owsley County, Kentucky on June 28, 1929 the son of George and Vesta Metcalf Gabbard. He was married to Connie Scott on November 2, 1974 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Billy Gabbard and his wife Missy of Cross Plains and Michael and Stephanie Gabbard of San Diego; two daughters Suzanne Cox and her husband Paul of Florida and Vickie Morton of Versailles; three step-sons, Mark Robinson and his wife Bobbi Jo of Madison, Ed and Tracy Robinson of Cross Plains, and Andy Robinson of Madison; two step-daughters, Marsha Scott of Canaan and Lisa Redwine and her husband Fred of Madison; 3 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and 6 step-great grandchildren; one brother Jim Gabbard of Florida; two sisters, Shirley Halcomb of Versailles and Zella Cruncleton of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers. Mr. Gabbard was a plasterer and had retired from the Halcomb Home Center in Versailles. He was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the donors choice.
