Brenda Kay Brooks, 71, of Benham passed away at 4:55 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. She was born in Lawrenceburg on June 12, 1955, the daughter of Curtis and Cynthia Honeycutt Watts. She was married to Randal Brooks on October 18, 1997 and he survives. Other survivors include one brother Tommy (Mary Ellen) Watts of Harrison, Ohio; two sisters Patricia Collins of Centerville and Shirley Shelton of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Carolyn Sue Rambo. Mrs. Brooks was a 1974 graduate of Milan High School. Brenda received her Associates Degree from Ivy Tech where she studied to be a legal secretary. She was a former employee of the Bank of Versailles where she worked as a proof operator and had also been employed with Irwin Union Bank in Columbus and Delta Faucet in Greensburg. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and garden, shopping, cooking, and loved music. She had also served as a volunteer at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. Brenda was a member of the CI Family Worship Center at Versailles and was also a member of the Golden Gate Choir. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13 at 11 a.m. at the CI Family Worship Center with Pastor Tim Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the Benham Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the church or the Golden Gate Choir in care of the funeral home.
