C. Raymond Geisler

August 9, 1927 — June 3, 2013

C. Raymond Geisler, 85, of Correct passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at his home. He was born near Madison on August 9, 1927 the son of Freddie and Helen Day Geisler. He was married to Esther Werner on September 18, 1948 and she survives. Other survivors include one son John (Lisa) Geisler of Benham; one daughter Melissa (Steve) Spencer of Lawrenceburg; daughter-in-law Mary Ann Geisler of Versailles; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons William and Richard Geisler, grandsons Joseph and Brian Geisler, and his sister Eleanor Whitaker. Mr. Geisler was a 1945 graduate of Versailles High School. During WWII he served in the Army for 18 months. For 12 months he served in the Occupational Forces in the Philippines. He spent his lifetime farming and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Olean. Raymond enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8 at 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean with Rev. Dennis Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Improvement Fund or the St. Paul Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
