Carl H. Warfield, 92, of Correct
passed away Thursday,
October 2, 2003 at his residence. He was born at Correct on January 5, 1911,
the son of Julius and Josie Bovard Warfield and was married to Lucille Gookins
on July 30, 1938 and she survives. Mr. Warfield was a self-employed truck
driver and hauled livestock and water in the area for several years. He had
spent his entire life in the Versailles and Correct area and was a member of
the Versailles Baptist Church.
Survivors
besides his wife include one son, Tom Warfield and his wife Lois of Correct;
one daughter, Rebecca Rogers and her husband Charles of Carmel, six
grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also one sister, Dortha Warfield
of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mrs.
Beulah Underwood. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 5
at 2pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Mark
Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 4
from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials
may be given to the Versailles Baptist Church building fund or to the Cliff
Hill Cemetery. The Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles is in charge of
arrangements.
