Carlos L. Hardy, 63, of Seymour, formerly of Holton passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the Dubois County Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He was born in Cincinnati on April 12, 1945 the son of George and Florence Pflum Hardy. Survivors include one daughter Carla Beverly of Holton; grandchildren Alax and Megan Furnish; brothers George Hardy, Jr. of Kentucky and Gary Hardy of Versailles; sisters Carol Stinson of North Vernon, Marlene Holloway of Ludlow, Kentucky, and Mary Lou Embry of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Helen Hartbarger, and his brother Stewart "Pete" Hardy. Mr. Hardy was a former employee of the Jefferson Proving Ground and was currently employed with Crane Army Ammunition Activity at Crane, Indiana. Mr. Hardy was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Versailles American Legion in care of the funeral home.
