Carol Jean Benham, 75, of Sellersburg
passed away at
6:35pm, Wednesday,
January 26, 2022, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany. She was
born in Seymour on
November 28, 1946, the daughter of Robert and Mary Alice Updike
Cannon. She was
married to Charles Benham on November 29, 1969 and he preceded
her in death.
Survivors include one son Dusty Benham and his fiancé Kristine
Carter of
Sellersburg, and her grandson Ethan Benham. She was also
preceded in death by
her parents and her brother Michael Cannon. Mrs. Benham was a
1965 graduate of Versailles High School
and attended the Cincinnati Bible College.
She was a former employee of Hill-Rom in Batesville, Marble Hill
at Madison, and retired from the corporate offices of
Kentucky Fried Chicken in Louisville
where she worked as an administrative assistant. Jeanie was a
member of the
Kent Christian Church and through 2019 served as a Rabbi with
the Burning Bush
Ministries. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 31
at 11am at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
with visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will be in the Benham
Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the cemetery in care of the funeral
home.
