Cecil R. Baugh, 79, of Osgood passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born at Mintenville, Kentucky on December 8, 1924 the son of John and Gertie Baugh. He was married to Mildred Brown on September 10, 1946 and she survives. Other survivors include one son, Lester Baugh and his wife Ellen of Seymour; four daughters Sonja Samples and her husband Bert of Rexville, Gia Spoor and Vern of Worthington, Ginger Bradford and Bill of Versailles, and Shawna Bushhorn and Rick of Osgood; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar Baugh of Holton; two sisters Bonnie Larabee of Cincinnati and Pauline Cole of Holton. Mr. Baugh was preceded in death by his brothers Roy and Fred Baugh. He was an Army veteran of WWII where he served in the Ardennes, the Rhineland and Central Europe. Mr. Baugh received the American Theatre Ribbon and the EAME Theatre Ribbon along with three bronze stars. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19 at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Robert Harting of the First Baptist Church in Osgood officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 18 from 4pm to 7pm. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Jennings County in care of the funeral home.
