Cecil A. Bultman

Cecil A. Bultman, Sr., 95, of Napoleon passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at St. Andrew's Health Campus in Batesville. He was born near Napoleon on October 24, 1914 the son of Oliver and Edna Hoyer Bultman. He was married to Alice Young on December 30, 1935 and she preceded him in death on September 29, 2007. Survivors include two sons Cecil A. (Mary) Bultman, Jr. of Napoleon and Denzil Bultman of Madison; one daughter DeVota Dean of Osgood; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; one brother Lester G. Bultman, Sr. of Bedford. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his son Donald Charles Bultman, his grandson Karl Bultman, his brothers Woodrow and Dale Bultman, and his sister Ruby Stratton. Mr. Bultman was a retired farmer and attended the Stewart School in Delaware Township. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon where he had taught Sunday School and was a member of the church choir. He was a member of the Ripley County Farm Bureau and a former member of the Batesville Eagles. He was a school bus driver for the Napoleon and Jac-Cen-Del school systems from 1945 to 1981 and had served as president of the Indiana School Bus Drivers Association for 22 years. Mr. Bultman was also a former 4H leader for the Napoleon Fighters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29 at 11am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon with Pastor Gary Groth and Rev. David Shivers officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Napoleon. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time services at the church. Memorials may be given to the church or the Napoleon Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
