Chad Edward Zapfe

Chad Edward Zapfe, 36, of the Hopewell community passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 at his home. He was born in Indianapolis on September 10, 1975 the son of Donald and Mona LaBolt Zapfe. Survivors include his father and step-mother Donald and Angie Zapfe of the Hopewell community; his mother Mona LaBolt of the Hopewell community; his sister Jennifer Zapfe of the Hopewell community; his maternal grandmother Mrs. Opal LaBolt also of the Hopewell community; his uncles Raymond (Jesse) Zapfe of Milhousen, Bernard (Judy) Zapfe of Westport, and James Zapfe of Moss Point, Mississippi; his aunts Mary Ann (Richard) Wamsley of Greensburg and Melinda (John) Braley of Versailles; and also his cocker spaniel Toby. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Edward and Frances Zapfe and his maternal grandfather Warren LaBolt. Mr. Zapfe was a 1994 graduate of South Ripley High School and was a former employee of Ohio Rod in Versailles. He also had worked in construction and was a member of the Carpenters Union. Chad enjoyed fishing and hunting and being outdoors. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26 at 10:30am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Shivers officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home and from 9:30am Saturday until time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
