Charles A. Burford, 79, of Milan
passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008 at his home. He was born at Owenton, Kentucky
on June 7, 1929 the son of Paul and Julia Kenney Burford. He was married to
Peggy Barenscheer on April 25, 1953 and she survives. Other survivors include
one son Rick (Tonya) Burford of Elrod; five daughters, Barbara (Dennis)
McLaughlin of Osgood, Judy (Doug) Russell of Milan, Cheri (Jr.) Schutte of
Milan, Debbie (John) Eaglin of Elrod, and Amy (Scott) Stutler of Friendship; 15
grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Burford, Jr. of
Harrison, and Don Burford of Aurora; one sister Brenda Lozier of Marietta,
Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Wanda, and one
great grandchild. Mr. Burford was a 28 year employee of Morton Salt in
Cincinnati where he worked as a fork lift operator. He was an Army veteran of
the Korean War and a member of the Washington Baptist Church at Elrod. Funeral
services will be held Thursday, July 10
at 11am at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Don Burford, Jr.
officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery at Elrod. Visitation will
be Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Washington Cemetery
in care of the funeral home.
