Charles E. Simon, 83, of Osgood passed away at 11:40am, Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Aspen Place in Greensburg. He was born near Osgood on March 24, 1937 the son of Arthur and Eva Tunny Simon. He was married to Lucille Schwering on October 16, 1957 and she preceded him in death on January 31, 2020. Survivors include four sons Tony (Sandi), Mike (Janice), Joe (Renee), and Paul (Beth) all of Osgood; three daughters Janet (Joe) Wagner and Jennifer (Kevin) Ricke both of Osgood, and Sandy (Paul) Wenning of Greensburg; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers Gene (Patty) Simon of Osgood and Dale (Bonnie) Simon of Bennington; four sisters Amelia (Louis) Wolter and Mary Gilland of Osgood, Melinda (Tim) Wissel of Greensburg, and Rita (Jim) Bedel of Westport; sister-in-law Dolores Simon of Osgood. He was also preceded in death by his parents, daughter and son-in-law Mark and Julie Eckstein, grandson Scott Singleton, great-grandson Seth Holland, an infant sister, and his brothers Donald and Arthur Simon, Jr. Mr. Simon was a farmer, a former employee of BCA in Greensburg, Johnson Wholesale in Greensburg, and drove a route for Straber Oil. Charley retired in 2009 after driving a bus for the Jac-Cen-Del schools for 30 years. Charley was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Wednesday, December 9 at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon with Father Bill Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the cemetery.
