Charles O. Wagoner

Charles O. Wagoner, 76, of Lake Placid, Florida, formerly of Holton passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his home. He was born near Borden on September 15, 1937 the son of Alfred and Verna Boardman Wagoner. He was married to Eva Mae Franklin on December 6, 1959 and she survives. Other survivors include one son Charles Mark Wagoner and his companion Charlotte Patterson of St. Petersburg, Florida; two daughters Annette (Mark) Sims of North Vernon and Barbette (Chuck) Wickstrom of Benham; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; one sister Jo Ann Mills of Lakeland, Florida; sister-in-law Susan Wagoner also of Lakeland; special friends Michael and Terri Beebe of Riverview, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gene Wagoner. Mr. Wagoner was a 1955 graduate of North Vernon High School. He was a Master Electrician and retired from the Macdill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida in 2002. He had also been employed with Arvins, Cummins, Kroger, and the former Farm Chemical Service in Holton. Charlie was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, the Holton Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Murat Shrine Club, Moose Lodge at North Vernon, Dixie County Bass Club, and was an honorary member of the Placid Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22 at 11am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Shivers officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Tuesday at the church. The Holton Masonic Lodge will conduct services Monday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Shriner's Hospital or the Hopewell Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
