Cheryl L. Martin, 58, of Versailles passed away Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. She was born at Sparta, Wisconsin on February 19, 1948 the daughter of Frederick and Jean Tatu Winkelman. She was married to Pastor Michael Allen Martin on July 15, 1967 and he survives. Other survivors include four sons, Marshall Martin and his wife Jodi of Cross Plains, Nathan and Christina of Versailles, Mark Martin, and Malachi Martin both of Versailles; three daughters, Sarah Adams and her husband Mark of Cross Plains, Gail and Ethan Cole of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, and Rachel Martin of Versailles; twelve grandchildren; five brothers, Lamont Winkelman of Flippin, Arkansas, Curtis Winkelman of Waxhatchie, Texas, Mark Winkelman of Corona, California, Cullen Winkelman of San Diego, and Aaron Winkelman of Lawton, Oklahoma; six sisters, Judy Thompson of Crestline, California, Brenda Newlun, Sandra Harris, and Shelly Stayton, all of Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, Fredonna Johnson of Traverse City, Michigan, Janine Bires of New Lisbon, Wisconsin. Mrs. Martin was a housewife and a member of the Remnant Baptist Church near Dillsboro. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Bro. John Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Green Cemetery near Versailles. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the donors choice.
