Claude L. Koger, 76, of Peru, Illinois, formerly of Ripley County passed away Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the Glenn Oaks Hospital in Glendale Heights, Illinois. He was born at Monticello, in Wayne County, Kentucky on May 15, 1930 the son of Charles and Clona Ball Koger.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas Koger of Peru, Illinois and Dennis Koger of Jefferson City, Missouri; two daughters, Cherlyn Purvis of LaSalle, Illinois and Cathy Hackler of Sycamore, Illinois; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Garmon Koger of Chersterfield, Indiana, Francis Koger of Princeton, Illinois, and Marshall Koger of Osgood, Indiana; one sister, Betty Jean Smock of Osgood. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Eva Williams, and brothers Kenneth and Doyle Koger.
Mr. Koger was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He formerly worked for the Seattle, Washington Police Department, Sigma Graphics of Ottawa, Illinois, and Wayside Press of Mendota, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 15 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, 1114 South Ripley Estates Dr. in Versailles, Indiana. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation will be from 10am until time of services.
