**Clay M. Baker**, 79, of Versailles passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at his home. He was born at Mistletoe in Owsley County, Kentucky on November 19, 1932 the son of George and Effie Burns Baker. He was married to Helen Edwards and she preceded him in death on October 5, 1999. He was then married to Pat Forbes on November 19, 2003 and she survives. Other survivors include one son Clay Matthew Baker of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two daughters Beverly (Donnie) Lanham of Manchester and Sherry (William) Boettcher of Delhi; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother Richard Dewberry of Youngstown, Ohio; one sister Linda Ishler of Manchester. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Cynthia Marie Baker. Mr. Baker retired in 1988 after 30 years as a machinist with the Ford Motor Company in Sharonville, Ohio. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War where he served with the 2500 Air Police Squadron and received the National Defense Service Medal. Clay was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ross, Ohio, the Sharonville-Calvary Masonic Lodge, and the Monfort Heights AMVETS Post 1988. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Cleves, Ohio. Masonic services will be conducted at 1pm and the Versailles American Legion will conduct military honors at the funeral home immediately following the services. Visitation will be from 11am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
