Cleo Baker Smith

February 17, 1922 — August 9, 2005

Cleo Baker Smith, 83, of New Marion, formerly of Carthage, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. She was born at Quail, Texas on February 17, 1922 the daughter of John and Donnie O'Hair Sorrell. Survivors include one son Jimmie Smith and his wife Brenda of New Marion; one daughter Caroletta Baize of Carthage, Texas; two grandchildren, Kenny Monk of Gilmore, Texas and Terri Peerenboom of Ruidoso, New Mexico. Mrs. Smith was a former bookkeeper and beautician. She was a member of the Carthage, Texas First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12 at 2pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Charles Cole officiating. Burial will be in the New Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1pm until time of services. Memorials may be given to the New Marion Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
