Cliff Fuehrer, 77, of Indianapolis, formerly of Holton, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006 at the Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center in Danville, Indiana. He was born near Benham on June 15, 1928 the son of Paul and Nora Hankins Fuehrer. Survivors include three brothers, Reece Fuehrer and his wife Carolyn, and Ernest Lee Fuehrer all of Danville, and Danny Fuehrer and his wife Helen of Sevierville, Tennessee; two sisters, Pauline Macall of Cedar, Minnesota and Linda Henderson and her husband Yogi of Rockville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Earl, Emmett, and Max Fuehrer, and his sisters Viola Fuehrer and Evelyn Griffith. Mr. Fuehrer was a former resident of Ripley County where he lived and farmed in the Holton, Dabney, and Osgood area. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War where he served as a field medic and ambulance driver in the 109 field hospital. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Dale Day officiating. Burial will be in the Benham Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Benham Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
