Connie G. Tunny, 85,
of Napoleon
passed away at 11:30am Sunday,
October 4, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Columbus. She was
born in
Barboursville, Kentucky on March 24, 1930 the daughter of Daniel
and Alice
Brock Payne. She was married to Charles Tunny on August 18, 1948
and he
preceded her in death on August 30, 2007. Survivors include
three sons Greg
(Vickie) Tunny of Osgood, Kim (Kelly) Tunny of Versailles, and
John Tunny of
Columbus; one daughter Sandy Dutka of Columbus; 8 grandchildren
and 8
great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her
parents, her
grandson Nicholas Dutka, and her son Nicholas Tunny who was
killed in Vietnam
on November 5, 1970. Mrs. Tunny was a housewife and had assisted
her husband on
their farm. She had also worked as an attendant at the
Muscatatuck State Hospital
in Butlerville. Connie was a member of the St. John Catholic
Church in Osgood
and was currently attending St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in
Columbus. She
was a former member of the Civil Air Patrol. Mass of Christian
Burial will be
held on Thursday, October 8
at 10am at St. John
Catholic Church in
Osgood. Burial will be in the St. Maurice Cemetery in Napoleon.
Visitation will
be Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral
Home in
Versailles with Rosary services at 7pm. Memorials may be given
to Little
Sisters of the Poor in care of the funeral home.
