Corinne S. Barricklow, 85, of Osgood passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at her residence. She was born at Dabney on December 21, 1921 the daughter of Ralph and Audra Vanosdol Stevens. She was married to George Barricklow on January 6, 1944 and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1968. Survivors include two sons, Barry W. Barricklow of Lewisville, Texas and Robin S. Barricklow of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Patrick W. Barricklow of South Bend and Brian E. Barricklow of Florida; great-granddaughter Nichole Barricklow; her aunt Sally Asche of Hagerstown.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Carl and Wayne Stevens, and her half-sisters Pauline, Wenonah, Beverly, Laverne, and Frances. Mrs. Barricklow was a 1939 graduate of Holton High School and received her BA degree from Franklin College in 1943. She received her MS degree from Indiana University in 1965. She taught school in Ripley County for 34 years in the Osgood, Napoleon, Holton, Cross Plains, Versailles, and South Ripley school districts.
She was a 71-year member of the Dabney Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and worked in the ABWM and was also a past president of the Sand Creek Association ABWM. Mrs. Barricklow was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Versailles Eastern Star and a former member of the Ripley County Harmonettes.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20 at 11am at the Dabney Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at Aurora. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Dabney Baptist Church or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Indiana in care of the funeral home.
