Daniel Peter Jachimiak, 17, of Versailles passed away Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Riley Hospital for children in Indianapolis. He was born at Madison on October 2, 1987, the son of Peter and Angela Montgomery Jachimiak and they survive. Other survivors include his brother Michael Highlander of Versailles; paternal grandmother Barbara Jachimiak of Versailles; maternal grandmother Carol Moody of West Harrison along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Carl Jachimiak and his maternal grandfather Earl Moody.
Daniel was a junior at the Cavehill Christian Academy where he was a student of art. He was consistently on the honor roll and also the Pastor's honor roll. He was a member of the Cavehill Church of God where he served as the sound technician for the church. He also participated in the church youth group and was on the drama team.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21 at 10 am at the Cavehill Church of God with Pastor Pearl Cornett officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, February 20 after 4 pm at the Cavehill Church of God. Memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House, Riley Hospital cancer research, or the Cavehill Christian Academy all in care of the funeral home. The Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles is in charge of the arrangements.
