Danny L. Myers, 68, of New Marion passed away at 2:30am, Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born at home in Benham on August 29, 1948 the son of Russell and Wilma Israel Myers. He was married to Brenda Wright at the West Fork Baptist Church on June 22, 1968 and she survives. Other survivors include three sons Rob (Tricia) Myers of New Marion, Dennis (Stephanie) Myers of New Palestine, and Tony (Sarah) Myers of Columbus, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; three brothers Norman (Barbara) Myers of Rexville, Russell Jr. (Linda) Myers of Dillsboro, and Mert (Janet) Myers of Versailles; one sister Mary (Tom) Allen of Edwardsburg, Michigan; sister-in-law Barbara Myers of Versailles. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kenneth Myers. Mr. Myers was a member of the last graduating class of New Marion High School in 1966. He was once an employee of Coca-Cola in Aurora and retired in 2013 after 45 years with Bonn Aluminum in Greensburg where he worked as a machine job setter. In his spare time Danny enjoyed carpentry, fishing, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, following NASCAR, and watching the IU Hoosiers. Danny was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and attended to many of the church's repair and remodeling needs. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28 at 11am at the New Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Creech officiating. Burial will be in the New Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the New Marion Baptist Church building fund in care of the funeral home.
