David R. Chandler

David R. Chandler, 66, of Cross Plains passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was born at London, Kentucky on April 14, 1941 the son of Raymond and Nancy Proffit Chandler. He was married to Paulette Samples on May 9, 1965 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Eddie Chandler of Cross Plains and David Chandler of Hamilton, Ohio; six grandchildren including Russell Chandler of Hamilton with whom he spent many special and happy moments; two brothers, Marvin Chandler of Hamilton and Johnny Chandler of Corbin, Kentucky; one sister Enola Pearl of California; also a special cousin Raymond Wyatt and his wife Barb of Cross Plains, along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Jeffrey Paul Chandler who passed away on June 15, 1996. Mr. Chandler attended the Hamilton Public Schools and served two terms in the Army, being honorably discharged in 1965. He retired from Fisher Body in Hamilton in 1992 and moved to his retirement home near Cross Plains in 1993 where he enjoyed his time hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Dewberry. Visitation will be Thursday from 9am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Shriners Burn Institute in care of the funeral home.
