David M. Monroe

David M. Monroe, 58, of Versailles passed away Friday, June 6, 2009 at his home. He was born at Altadena, California on January 12, 1951 the son of Marion and Caroline Hays Monroe. Survivors include one daughter Lori (Dwight) Krieg of Batesville; grandchildren Abbie and Ben Krieg; one sister Nancy Pickett of Versailles; nephew Jeff Pickett and niece Jennifer Smith. Mr. Monroe was a 1969 graduate of South Ripley High School. He worked as a machinist for 35 years at Ohio Rod in Versailles retiring in 2003. He enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Becky Pohle officiating. Burial will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the cemetery in care of the funeral home.
