Dennis W. Hayes

Dennis Hayes, 75, of Benham passed away at 8:30pm, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the University Hospital in Louisville. He was born at Milan on October 25, 1942 the son of Wilkie and Jessie Niles Hayes. He was married to Barbara Linville on May 21, 1966 and she survives. Other survivors include one brother Kenneth (Gladys) Hayes of Benham along with several nieces and nephews. Growing up Denny attended the Benham School and was a 1960 graduate of Cross Plains High School. In 1962 he began working at the Aurora Casket Company and remained there his entire career retiring in 2005 after 43 years. Music was a major part of Denny and Barbara's life and throughout their married life they did singing evangelical work which allowed them to travel to several states. Denny was a member of the Concord Wesleyan Church where served in several capacities. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18 at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Jerry Vandervort officiating. Burial will be in the Benham Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3pm to 6pm. Memorials may be given to the Concord Wesleyan Church in care of the funeral home.
