Denzel Byram, 82, of Speedway passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born at Dillsboro on January 7, 1928 the son of Griff and Cora Meyer Byram. He was married to Betty Lou Bricka, and she survives. Other survivors include one son Ron (Melissa) Byram of Kokomo; grandchildren Kelly Wright and Amanda Gillem both of Kokomo; great-grandchildren Jaylee Gillem, Taliah Wright, and Reece Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harland Byram, and his sister Juanita Soakie. Mr. Byram was a 1946 graduate of Dillsboro High School and attended the Coyne Technical School in Chicago. He was employed with Seagram's in Lawrenceburg, Cummins Engine in Columbus, and was employed for 34 years with the Allison Division of GM in Indianapolis as a computer programmer, retiring in 1983. Mr. Byram was a member of the Hamilton Masonic Lodge at Fishers. He enjoyed his family, golfing, square dancing, and walking. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 6 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Fehrman officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery at Dillsboro. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
