**Donald J. Simon**, 68, of Osgood
passed away Friday, December 7, 2007 at his home.
He was born near Osgood on May 22, 1939 the son of Arthur and Eva Tunny Simon.
He was married to Ola Vae Roark on August 13, 1958 and she preceded him in death
on August 18, 2005. Survivors include three sons, James (Cindy), Wayne (Brenda),
and Vincent Simon all of Osgood; five daughters, Karen Carroll and Shirley
England both of Osgood, Donna (Lonnie) Sparks of Holton, Barbie (Ryan) Bultman
of Greensburg, and Dana (Mark) Montgomery of Aurora; 23 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren; four brothers, Arthur (Dolores), Charles (Lucille), and
Gene (Patty) Simon all of Osgood and Dale (Mary Ann) of Bennington; four
sisters, Mary (Donald) Gilland and Amelia (Lou) Wolter both of Osgood, Linda
(Tim) Wissell of Greensburg, and Rita (Jim) Bedel of Westport. He was preceded
in death by his parents and his granddaughter Chelsea Simon. Mr. Simon was a
farmer and retired in 1990 after 25 years at BCA at Greensburg. He currently was
operating Simon & Sons farm implements near Osgood. He enjoyed his family
and spent much time restoring antique tractors. Mass of Christian Burial will be
held Monday, December 10
at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church at
Osgood. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from
4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary
services at 7:30pm. Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Margaret Mary
Hospital in care of the funeral home.
