Dorothy Pettit Asche

Dorothy Pettit Asche, 85, of New Marion passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. She was born at Carrollton, Kentucky on March 30, 1930 the daughter of Stewart and Edith Willis Wood. She was married to Robert Asche on February 14, 1996 and he preceded her in death on 2014. Survivors include one daughter Helen McNeely of Norfolk, Virginia; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, three step children and numerous step grandchildren, one brother, Donny Wood and one sister, Norma Jean Schoenhoeft. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Robert Pettit in 1993, her brother Paul Wood, and her sisters Christine Beach, Hazel Banter, and Mary. Mrs. Asche retired from Muscatatuck after 28 years. She was also a member of the New Marion Baptist Church. Mrs. Asche loved to go fishing and crochet. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11 at 12pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Randy Thieman officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles, Indiana. Visitation will be Friday from 10am until time of service. Memorials may be given to the New Marion Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
