**Dorothy Knigga, 94, of Versailles**
passed away
Friday,
September 3, 2010 at the Waters of Ross Manor at Dillsboro. She was
born at
Friendship on March 30, 1916 the daughter of Herbert and Lillian Rost
Steingruber. She was married to Raymond Knigga on April 15, 1944 and he
preceded her in death on September 7, 1993. Survivors include one
daughter
Rosella (Willard) Elliott of Versailles; four granddaughters Denise
(Mark)
Roosa of Bradenton, Florida, Cassandra (Darrin) Cutter of Dillsboro,
Shannon
(Scott) Peetz of Versailles, and Mendy (Kris) Cranfill of Versailles; 8
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her
brother Rev.
Paul Steingruber, her niece Janice Steingruber, and her grandson John
Ray
Elliott. Mrs. Knigga was a former resident of Bear Branch in
Switzerland County
and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Bear Branch. She was
a homemaker. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 7
at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev.
David Blazier
and Pastor Pamela Thiede officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's
Cemetery at
Olean. Visitation will be Monday from 6pm to 8pm. Memorials may be
given to the
Activities Fund at Ross Manor or St. Peter's Lutheran Church in care of
the
funeral home.
